Massage is not only for the professional or competitive horse owner, massage is very benifical to the casually ridden horse (the "weekend warriors" who ride occasionally and may ride for long periods of time), its good for broodmares, retired horses and arthritic horses alike.
Massage has been known to go hand in hand with Chiropratic treatment. Massage complements a good chiropractic adjustment. Some chiropractors may like a horse to be massaged prior to an adjustment so the horse’s body is easier to work with. Or, massage might be used a couple days afterward to alleviate any soreness, and keep the horse moving comfortably and help maintain the adjustment.
